How to Make iPhone/ 3G Ringtones Yourself
I will be showing you how to make ringtones from any song in your iTunes library (Windows ONLY) for free without have to pay to make a song from iTunes crappy ringtone list or any programs other than iTunes.. Its simple and easy to do
** to get the ringtones section in itunes go to edit/ preferences and check the box that says ringtones **
I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION TO WHERE IT APPEARS AS A BUNCH OF COPYS OF ONE RINGTONE IN THE CUSTOM RINGTONES SECTION ON YOUR IPHONE!

*** Instead of draging the ringtone to the desktop all your have to do is right click the song in iTunes and press open in explorer then rename it from .m4a to .m4r

Here’s a brain teaser for you:
I have a jailbroken, 1.1.1 iphone. I followed the steps perfectly, and the ringtone shows up in my itunes in the “ringtones” playlist. BUT, when I go to sync it to my phone, the song doesn’t appear in the “ringtones” tab in the sync options. Any suggestions?
Choose ‘Create AAC version’. That should work

Yeah I’ve done exactly that three times and still nothing. Where exactly on the iPhone does the ringtone show up? I’m assuming it should be in the ringtones section of the sounds menu in the settings. Yes?

When the sync summary thing comes up (sorry for not knowing exactly what that’s called), where it has the picture of your iPhone and it shows the syncing status and what-not, click the “Ringtones” tab on the top of that page, and then make sure “Sync Ringtones” is checked. Then push apply and sync and it should work! Hope that helps! (:
At the risk of asking a stupid question. I have done this and synced the ringtone to my iphone. How do I then set it as my phones ringtone? When I go to settings> sounds> Ringtone there is no sign of the ringtone. Am I going about it the right way or as something gone wrong while doing the process in this video?
